Project 112, Donation. Cost: US$16,500 – Installation of a pipeline to provide Vanvani-Bolo village with 48 Households, in Vanj District, access to safe drinking water from a mountain spring located 5.3 kms away.

Funded by: Dhananis

Vanvani-Bolo  Village

Pre-project Situation

The 48 household in Vanvani-Bolo village currently are using the water from the Vanj river as a source of the drinking water which is located 1 km away from the village.
The water in the river is not safe, as it can have a lot of microorganisms, that can serve as a cause of the infectious diseases. Since children more tend to drink the water without boiling it, they are the one that mostly get sick with diarrhea. The water gets muddy during Summer, as glaciers melt a lot during the hot weather, the water brings a lot of mud with it down to the river. In addition, it is very hard to fetch water during the winter, as it is unsafe to go down to the river, when it freezes around.
