Project 111, Donation. Cost: US$18,700 – Installation of a pipeline to provide Devdor village with 126 Households, in Khatlon Region, Shurobo District, access to safe drinking water from a mountain spring located 7.8 kms away.

Funded by: Dhananis

Devdor Village-150 years old

Pre-project Situation

The 120 household in Devdor village currently are using the water from the small channel as a source of the drinking water which is located 2 kms away from the village.
The water in the Channel is not safe, as it can have a lot of microorganisms, that can serve as a cause of the infectious diseases. Since children more tend to drink the water without boiling it, they are the one that mostly get sick with diarrhea. The water gets muddy during Summer, as glaciers melt a lot during the hot weather.
Moreover, this stream serves as a water source for the village for only two months of the year. During the remaining ten months, it dries up, forcing households to fetch water from another village located approximately 3 km away.
