Pre-project Situation
In summer:
Water from the river is used for drinking purposes. The water in the river is not suitable for drinking. During the summer the water is highly used for washing also, which leaves stains on the clothes and very hard for the skin to be used.
In winter:
Due to the cold weather some points of the river freeze. Due to this the fetching location becomes farther as only some points for fetching water are available.

Any tap water can contain different amounts of total dissolved salts (TDS), which in large quantities would make the water harmful to drink. So, it is necessary to test it regularly.
The water is rated based on the TDS amout per liter:
excellent when less than 300 mg, good when between 300-600 gm, fair when 600-900 mg and unacceptable when morethan 1200 mg.
So, can you plan to rest your tap water regularly with this meter we have given you?- Yes
Also, can you plan to have a government specialist check your drinking water if it smells bad, tastes bad or has a color? Yes
Duaa from the Village Chief:
Our prayers go towards the good health and long lives of Shiraz and Shahida Dhananis, Mithoo and Nabat Gillani and all their family members. Not everyone can make somebody else’s problem, more important then your own ones. May Mawla be proud of such Murids and may their Nazrana be accepted.
For their deceased family members, we pray for their souls and eternal peace.
