Feedback from the village

Date of the Feedback: 8.08.2021

Feedback received From the Chief Moniev A  (mobile ph: 900569796 ) of the  Vanvan Village, GBAO, Tajikistan after, the completion of the above project number 44:

How has this pipeline helped you in saving time for other activities?

In winter:  Even though during winter time there is no work on the farm land, there are still many chores around the house which consume time. For example taking care of the cattle. Having water closer to the house, we will be able to spend that time for the above above mentioned activities, instead of dwelling the water from the source.

In spring: Spring is peak of the work on the farm lands. Now we will have a chance to spend some more time on the farm lands or have some time for resting to gain some strength for the next day of work on the lands.

In summer: Water plays a big role in hygiene aspects, especially during summer, when there are a lots of fruits and vegetables available. Children often don’t bother of cleaning them as there is always a limited amount of water available at home. Now that we will have the driniking water, it might change the people’s habits on cleaning fruits and vegetables, other food products and dishes. Even this will change the hand washing habit also.

In Fall: During the fall season people are mainly busy with harvesting and proper storing of the harvested products. Now we will have a chance to spend more time on these activities.

Any tap water can contain different amounts of total dissolved salts (TDS),  which in large quantities would make the water  harmful to drink. So, it is necessary to test it regularly.

The water is rated  based on the TDS amount per liter:

excellent when  less than 300 mg, good  when between 300-600 gm, fair when 600-900 mg and unacceptable when more than 1200 mg.

So, can you plan to Test your tap water regularly with this meter we have given you?- Yes

Also, can you plan to have a government specialist check your drinking water if it smells bad, tastes bad or has a color? Yes
