Joint Funding:
Dhananis funded US$7,500 and Mithoo and Nabat Gillani from Calgary voluntarily funded US$2,500.

Pre-project Situation
In summer:
The water is fetched from the river, which is unsafe during all four seasons, but especially it gets very dirty in summer season. The river is 1 kilometer far from the households. Due to increase of washing and household chores during the summer, it takes a lot of time and energy to fetch the water from the river.
In winter:
The fetching becomes more challenging, due to the snow on the way to the river. The fetching takes a very long time and a lot of working power. Mainly children are the ones who do the fetching, which could be considered as child labor.

Expected benefits
This piped access to potable water will benefit them in 5 different ways:
1) The villagers will not suffer from waterborne diseases
2) It will free up more time to work on their farmland during spring, summer, and fall
3) every day, they will have more time to cook meals
4) in winter, it will give the parents more time to spend with the
kids on doing their homework, and
5) Kids will have more time to study and do other activities
