Ravmed Village with 65 families in the Pamirs

Pre-Project Situation

Long ago, the villagers  had built a 1200 meters long open channel  to draw water from a river to irrigate their vegetable farms.

However, a certain 300-meter  long section of the channel is destroyed every year by heavy snow fall. Consequently, their water supply is interrupted and they are only able to farm 2ha out of their 4.3ha.

Project Scope

To install a pipe in the 250-ft long stretch of th channel where the open ditch often commapses.

The portion of  the channel in which to lay a pipe

Items Donated

200mm-diameter polyethylene pipes, glass wool insulation for pipes, cement, other miscellaneous items and outsourced pipe fitting service.
