Project 54, Donation. Cost: US$16,700 – Installation of a pipeline to provide Ruzvay village with 54 Households, in Darvaz district, GBAO access to safe drinking water from a mountain spring located 5.5 kms away.

Funded by: Dhananis

Ruzvay Village (200 years old)

Pre-project Situation

The 54 household in Ruzvay village currently are using the water from the Panj river as a source of the drinking water which is located 800 meters away from the village.
The water in the river is not safe, as it can have a lot of microorganisms, that can serve as a cause of the infectious diseases. Since children more tend to drink the water without boiling it, they are the one that mostly get sick with diarrhea. The water gets muddy during Summer, as glaciers melt a lot during the hot weather, the water brings a lot of mud with it down to the river. In addition, it is very hard to fetch water during the winter, as it is unsafe to go down to the river, when it freezes around.
