Project 43, Donation. Cost: US$18,400 – Installation of a pipeline to provide Jangalsar village with 36 Households, in Ishkashim district, GBAO access to safe drinking water from a mountain spring located 6.5 kms away.
Funded by: Dhananis
Jangalsar Village (300 years old)
Pre-project Situation
The 36 household in Jangalsar village currently are using the water from the Ishkashim river as a source of the drinking water which is located 1.2 kms away from the village.
The water in the river is not safe, as it can have a lot of microorganisms, that can serve as a cause of the infectious diseases. Since children more tend to drink the water without boiling it, they are the one that mostly get sick with diarrhea. The water gets muddy during Summer, as glaciers melt a lot during the hot weather, the water brings a lot of mud with it down to the river. In addition, it is very hard to fetch water during the winter, as it is unsafe to go down to the river, when it freezes around.
