Pre-project Situation

There is good harvest of fruits in Darjomch village of Bartang valley. Compare to other types of fruits, apple is harvested more. Due to unavailability of other options to process the apple, people tend to just dry it, which is not much used afterwards, either feed it to the livestock.

Project Scope 

HfP will donate: Fruit crusher machine, juicer, juice pasteurizer, and fridge.

Expected Benefits

HfP’s donation of equipment will enable them to produce and sell fresh juice from the harvested apple, instead of it going wasted. People of not only Darjomch village will benefit from the project, as the fruits harvested in two other nearby villages (Spondj and Razuj) will be purchased from them, also. Juice from other fruits, as peach and apricot will be prepared, also. The juice prepared will be sold in small shops of Bartang valley first, and they can expand to Khorog market in future.

Also, it will create 3 new jobs.
